NTC-Education -- For A Smooth Transition

 â€‹

DSSV offers accredited Dutch Language and Culture Education (NTC) to children of Dutch-speaking heritage. Through our after-school program, where students are taught Dutch as if they were at a school in the Netherlands or Belgium, students maintain a high level of proficiency in the Dutch language and develop valuable skills for for a smooth return to the Dutch or Belgian school system or a university in the Netherlands or Belgium.

DSSV is supervised by the Dutch Inspectorate of Education and is affiliated with the Foundation for Dutch Education Abroad (NOB), ensuring quality and alignment with education in the Netherlands and Flanders.

NTC-Education -- An Eye For Differences

Because of the differences in home situation, NTC education distinguishes three tracks

  • Track 1 (Richting 1): for students with two Dutch-speaking parents and for whom Dutch is the dominant language at home. These students are taught at the same Dutch curriculum as in the Netherlands or Belgium.

  • Track 2 (Richting 2): for students with one Dutch-speaking parent and where there is, in addition to Dutch, another language dominant at home. These students are taught the same Dutch curriculum as Track 1 students, but are allowed an addition two years to reach the target goal.

  • Track 3 (Richting 3): for students with one Dutch-speaking parent, but where Dutch is not spoken at home. They are offered Dutch as a Second Language. â€‹
